Abbi graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Social Work. As the daughter of Barren Heights’ founders, Joe and Toni Rose, she grew up immersed in the ministry and has volunteered at more than 100 retreats. During college, when an internship was required, Abbi felt led to serve Barren Heights—faithfully commuting between Louisville and Bowling Green to make it happen.
In September 2018, Abbi was hired by the Board of Directors as Executive Director, serving in that role for eight years. Throughout her leadership, she remained deeply committed to people and to fostering a ministry culture where everyone feels loved, accepted, welcomed, and safe.
As she steps out of the Executive Director role, Abbi will remain on staff as Chief Operations Officer to help support a smooth and healthy leadership transition. She is excited and expectant for what the Lord has in store next.
Outside of Barren Heights, Abbi enjoys spending time with her family, playing any competitive sport, reading a good novel, and traveling.
