Stephanie earned a degree from Indiana University in Psychology, with an emphasis in Child Development and Disorders. From the start of her career in Social Work, Stephanie was drawn to helping children and families thrive in their communities. Just shy of a decade of helping families, Stephanie married and started her own family. She and her husband sensed the calling for her to be a stay-at-home mom to their two birth children, now adult son and daughter. Once her children were school-aged, she sensed a new calling to become a foster mom to medically fragile babies needing a loving home while they awaited their forever homes. Stephanie was inspired by the love and enthusiasm she saw in her children and husband while serving as a foster family to seven different babies, and this became the beautiful beginning of her passion to be a family that serves and loves other families. Stephanie believes wholeheartedly that when people feel loved, accepted, welcomed, and safe, they can thrive! She hopes to continue being an encouraging model of Barren Heights’ mission of families serving families!
Stephanie enjoys gardening, cooking, crafting, being outside, spending time with her family and traveling.

A small container of bubbles, because blowing bubbles makes me happy!
Madame Alexander dolls that were first given to me by my grandmother and later by my parents.
When I was riding my daughter’s horse and he ignored my reining and leg while taking me over a (very small) jump because he decided he wanted to jump with me that day! He’s a bit cheeky that way, but we love him and I stayed on him!!
