Prompts To Get You Thinkin’

• Best Practices: List some tips that help set host families and caretakers up for success. (e.g. send out job assignments early, pre-retreat gathering, host huddles, etc.)
• Communication: What strategies have helped you to communicate clearly with both volunteers and guests so that everyone feels well-led and supported throughout the retreat? (e.g. personal comfort calls, prioritizing guest connection, walkie-talkies for volunteers, etc.)
• Learning From Experience: Name a mistake you have made while leading a retreat that helped you learn and lead better during future service opportunities. (e.g. not tidying throughout the weekend, skipping post-retreat debriefing, overloading your own plate instead of delegating tasks well, etc.)
• Logistics: Through your experience, what has made your retreats run smoothly? (e.g. arriving early, checking the weather when considering the schedule, pre-set breakfast the night before, etc.)
